Snakes, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails...

OR Sugar N Spice and everything Nice

Well heres how the doctors appointment went:
We were called back I detoured to the bathroom for my wonderful "sample" while James headed to the room.
I got to the room and sat on the lovely pink chair in the same room as my first appointment.
The nurse had me get on the scale checked my weight then my blood pressure, did something with my sample before disposing of it... and then left.
Dr. Rost entered the room asked the "How are we doing today" question shook our hands, turned on the ultrasound machine, grab the nice and warm gel and towel got me set to go, turned off the lights, and started the show.
Now I did say last time if the baby cooperates we will find out... now this child was super jumpy and active the last appointment but for some reason was set on staying calm and collected while stradling the placenta perfecting in the "area" so... that would only lead the doctor to jiggle mommys tummy right... well nothing. So Dr Rost went about his business and measured things he needed to and checked everything that needed to be checked. In the middle of this check he came back and jiggled, gave his opinion on what he thought it might be and went back to checking other things. We went back one last time were he jiggled everything quite well that the baby bounced off for just a little bit, we got a glimpse and settled right back into its spot... well what is Dr Rosts 95% positive guess but he promises no gurantees....
A GIRL!
Yes we were hoping for a boy just because its a 6-1 deficit on the Blakes side but I guess we keep with tradition of not having boys! I honestly was bummed a bit not because its a girl and I have told James from the beginning its because when it comes to little tiny baby things I can go on and on with shopping for pinks and frills. He didnt believe that was my reasoning until recently. When I was just in the mood to shop and was ooing and awing over every little girl thing in site... he then realized I was telling the truth. I cant have my girl not being the most adorable sassy thing in town! Duh! Well thats the news. Christmas was great and spent with my family. We probably will do something quiet for New Years, most likely dinner and a movie... since it will be the last really quiet New Years for well probably forever! Well hope everyones holiday was stupendous and there 2011 is even better, healthier, successful, and full of wealth and love!

Christmas Time is Here...

Okay so that is not my favorite song but I like that line!
Well its here and I can't believe it... where did the rest of the year go?? We have been in Texas for a year now and had many changes since then. We now are living back in an apartment. I am loving the less is more lifestyle. Less money on rent and bills, less cleaning( big plus). We do miss having a back yard but that's about it!
James is now working nights at Walmart and he likes it way more than TWU. If he could trade the hours of his old job though he would. I am still with Sally Beauty at the corporate building but I work on the company's Beauty Systems Group side which is stores around the country, Canada, and PR that are specifically for professional cosmetologist. Its fun and enjoy my co-workers, they are a fun bunch.
That is really all the news we have pretty much same ole same ole. On the down side I don't think we will be receiving quite(if at all) the white Christmas (weeks) we had last year. But we will enjoying our last Christmas just us two... next year we will have a 7 month old at Christmas!! How fun does that sound!
We are due May 21st, 2011. I really want to have the baby on the 17th because it will be halfway between mine and James birthday. So we would have a 7th, 17th, and 27th.. how cool would that be! Well that is about it. We are hopefully going to find out what "it" is this Friday...if the baby cooperates! Keep you posted.
PS. Is it super sad that we are almost into 2011 and I only have blogged on here 3...count that 1, 2, 3... times the WHOLE year! I am ashamed. Hopefully I can do SUPER better because I hoping to make this our journal somewhat and eventually print it off... but it would pretty pointless if I just post 3 times a year! Thats my rant. :)

10.He loved his thumb...
11.He loved the soft feel of a blanket edging, the kind with the silky edge..AND the feel of my panty hose...at church he would sit next to me and just rub my leg to feel the panty hose...
12.have I mentioned fishing....anywhere..anytime....he would go with his Dad whenever he could..some of his favorite spots were the river in West Paris, down behind region 11 in Norway, George's camp, the railroad tracks in Locke Mills, Popham Beach, Moose Pond, and he meant business..the other kids would get bored after a while, but not James..he wanted to stay until he caught a fish! He even tried ice fishing with a family friend once...he DID NOT like that.
13.He once killed snakes for Mima Jan with a shovel...he was her hero forever after that.(he was only 10 when he did that)
14.Loved to play baseball, and started when he was little (5). Summer after summer baseball...baseball...baseball. His Dad was his coach for many of those years..
15.He also loved the snack shack.....

18.He loved it when the missionaries came over..from the time he was a little boy. (loved to play basketball with them when he got older).
19.James loved cub scouts..pinewood derby, projects etc. BUT H-A-T-E-D Boy Scouts....
20.LOVED the annual Oxford Ward Fishing Derby...it seemed like he looked forward to it for weeks in advance...and finally won once and got a LURE
21.which reminds me.....he loved fishing tackle....one could never go wrong by getting a cool lure for him for his birthday, or filling his tackle box with new stuff. We once got him a set of fishing books for Christmas...I don't think he ever read the books, but he loved the pictures!
22.James has always hated to read.....I think he never wanted to take the time to settle down to enjoy a book...once in high school, I read him a series of books so he could get through it...but I enjoyed the time we spent together.
23.Loved his neices and nephew...as all the kids did..James spent special time with them playing with them, and genuinly loving each one of them.
24.Loved his mission, and the people he met and served .....he was reluctant to go at first, but once there, threw himself in to it and really loved the people.....he has made some lasting relationships, and had experiences he will never forget.
25.RED SOX----RED SOX....RED SOX
May I add a 26th thing I know about James.....that he loves Jessica and will do anything for her...when we first got the call that he had met someone "special" we knew that he had found his girl...."Mom she likes country music...and I'm teaching her to love baseball".....well we knew right then that we would soon have a new daughter in law....

I also asked Ma Blake to remember what his actual birthday, May 27, 1985 was like and what they usually did for his birthdays every year...
Every year for birthdays we just usually got together and had a spaghetti dinner. It was one of his favorites....sometimes grandparents would come.......he had cake and ice cream of course....I can't remember specific gifts.......but we made sure to include fishing stuff...there was also a new basketball involved because they would always get lost........
JAMES BIRTH DAY
James was born Monday May 27th ......it was actually Memorial day that year!!!! I had been in labor since Sunday night......it was the first official day in our new house on Tuelltown Road.....we had spent the weekend moving in...what a housewarming gift..!!......I hadn't eaten in a day or so, Dr. Hazelton said that after my 6th baby I could ask for anything I wanted to eat....All I could think about was chocolate cake!!!!! They didn't have any in the hospital cafeteria..so I gave up on the craving....the next think I know Dr. Hazelton comes in with a huge peice of chocolate cake!!!...Every time the nurse brought James in to me he would just look up at me, he was so calm, no fussing, no crying, just content to be where he was.......and that's been his personality from the beginning.
His hair was a blondish red, he had a lot of it, and when we brought him home, his older sibs fell in love with him, especially Jesee. She became his guardian angel from then on.
HAPPY 25th I hope you enjoyed it babe... I love you!

WE ARE BACK!

In more ways than one. First I have finally come out of our somewhat busy lives and found time to blog. Second we are living now in the grand ole state of TEXAS!!! So good to be home. Although the weather is a little unusual but to be expected at the same time. We have been here since the end of October. Utah was nice but neither one of us were finding any luck with jobs and so expanded our locations. A job opportunity opened up for James to work on the groundskeeping crew for Texas Womens University, and we took it. I got hired by a temp agency to work for Sally Beauty. It has worked out so wonderfully for the both of us. We are renting a house here in Denton. Its only about 2 miles from James' job and about 10 from mine, so that is really nice. Are dogs are grown up and love having a backyard to wrestle and throw the ball around in. (We love that too!) Everything seems to being going well and working out great. Its fun for me to see familiar faces and to know where I am going. Its been fun introducing James and showing him around. We love our ward they are great and our Bishop is really fun! Its nice to be around my little nephews and soon to be nieces. We have another one on the way in just weeks so EXCITED! So thats been the updated sorry its been so long and this does not do justice of what has been going on but it is a broad overcast of the things we have been up to. Hope to post more and more often! Thanks for anyone who has helped us along the way!
